Rate My Player really needs to be a forum for actual players and not hypothetical results from the VPB. Flooding the forum with VPB possibilities makes it less likely that someone with a real dot gets the responses they need.

LOL, this player can't pass and can't run, don't waste time, yellow.

He's a real level 1 Dot. Just trying to get some thoughts on the idea I have for making him.

Here was my "theory" on the build.

1) That the only thing that really matters to passing is Throwing. So a throwing 170+ (after the VA) should make up for perceived shortages in other skills.

2) That vision in particular is pointless in passing. The QBs seem to stick with the main read pretty much no matter how unopen they are.

3) That confidence is indeed irrelevant as some say.

4) That having a Rushing QB in the roster will prompt people to defend the run regardless, freeing up the passing game.

5) That a speed outside QB has to put too many resources into Speed and Stamina to allow the build to be a decent passer.

6) That Power Through is overpowered and will generate gains even with crummy builds.

7) That two lead blockers are better than one and that a power QB is the best power threat accordingly at least for short yardage (this was supposed to go with a blocking HB build but that didn't seem to work).

8) That carrying really doesn't matter much if strength is high.

9) That a high agility spin and power through combo should be pretty effective up the middle.

10) I'm a little bored.

Note - I am not saying that all of the above is true. I am merely speculating that it might be true.

Whether I waste 300x30 flex to find out will depend in large part on your commentary....

He needs to be great at something and then you can sneak the other stuff in when teams aren't expecting it. Very tough build to pull off. The power thru type build is probably the best way to go, I would make him a power rusher first and see how high u can take throwing attributes from that. Also needs more than 50 stamina. Carrying does matter, some say its more important than strength

There is a Virtual Player Builder forum where you can discuss exactly this type of thing. I think it's in the public forum directory. Rate My Player should be about rating players as they actually are.

Yeah but if he cant throw then he's a trick, was kinda shooting for a full time QB that can do running tricks. But I hear ya.

As to the carry, I have a HB with 90 carry IIRC, and I just did not see the pay off in terms of broken tackles. Now its a spin Elusive guy, so maybe it doesnt go to that I dunno. But thats what made me wonder.

I guess I will reconsider this particular dot then. Thanks Snakes.

Ah so there is. Last post a month ago, not much traffic.

But duly noted, thanks for pointing that out.

He's hardly the only one. My concern is that fewer people are posting actual builds and fewer people are commenting. I find myself not caring about commenting on hypothetical builds, so I don't come in this subforum much anymore.

I was simply making the point that if he would start posting there, maybe some others would as well which perhaps would lead to it being more frequented. Of course, you can agree with that, can you not?

Actually that forum is probably dead, come to think of it. The Build Advice Forum would be a better place to discuss VPB hypotheticals since I hear it's pretty active.

eh honestly when i see someone post VPB builds in the BAF I generally shy away too. Especially if it says elusive HB or Pocket passer.

Here's how its always struck me.

Whats the point of posting my already finished player?

To brag????

I guess thats a fine reason for a forum.

But having one where you can get advice as to the desirability of your build goals would seem to be more useful.

But yes should or could anyway be different forums for each easily enough.

I just wouldnt spend much time in the bragging one myself.

This subforum used to involve people posting level 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60s before asking what to do the rest of the way.
