When are we going to downsize and get rid of all the CPU teams, just ridiculous, those games are easy wins and you can't learn anything from them, just a waste.
Forum > FAQ's, Player Guides and Newbie Help > CPU Teams
We would love to be able to have nothing but human-owned teams but unfortunately it isn't quite possible with the amount of teams that are bought and sold throughout the season. We try our best to make leagues as competitive as possible during the initial team sort, and we also made improvements to CPU team's (players) several seasons ago to make them more competitive. It is definitely possible to lose against a CPU team if you don't game plan and all games are opportunities to get great stats for your players and to try out new tactics.

Generally the regular leagues (as opposed to competitive and elite) have the bulk of the CPUs. It's pretty easy to outgrow those leagues in a season, since once you accumulate some wins you'll be up in the competitive leagues. The bottom leagues in the tier are typically CPUs and terribad (half filled) teams mixed in with the new purchases.

guess u never know what to expect with regards to rookies...
Yeah, but the Rookie leagues are all "normal" leagues, no Competitive or Elite. They don't even try to sort the Rookie leagues. So, Rookie #1 can end up being terribad and Rookie #5 can end up being awesome.
They don't start sorting until Prep, and even then they just have Competitive and "normal" -- no Elite. It's not until University that you get all 3 "tiers" -- Elite, Competitive and "normal."

Which league are you complaining about in particular? If it's an Elite league with a bunch of CPU teams, then yeah, that's ridiculous. But if it's a "normal" league or even a Competitive league, just consider it an incentive to always keep your team good enough to stay in Elite.

You're in a non-competitive league. I'm sure if the team you're associated with makes it very far in the playoffs you will have a different outlook next season.

See the system works against teams though, you could be in a non-competitive league, with 6 CPU teams, 6 human teams with half the roster full of cpu players, with 8 + games, get moved into a competitive league and get the shit kick out of you, you would think, hey, we did good last season, why not now? Well, because you aren't playing the bad teams you were playing, it's pretty counter productive, and in this system networks will flourish, and kill the game even more.

Idiots think that.

Well, here's the deal... if there are 65 people who spent the Flex Points to own University teams, what exactly are Bort and Catch supposed to do? The logical thing to do there is pretty much what they're already doing: put the best 32 teams in Elite #1, put the next-best 32 teams in Competitive #2, and put that last human team (#65) in Normal #3 along with 31 CPU teams to round out the league. It's simple math...
...and then the chucklehead who owns that last team comes along and says, "I'm in a league with 31 CPU teams! This is ridiculous!"
What should Bort and Catch do differently? FORCE people to buy up the other 31 CPU teams in the bottom league? Or perhaps they could tell the owner of the #65 team, "Sorry, but you clearly suck at owning a team anyway, so we're not going to let you pay us money to own one. But hey, now we can shut down Normal #3, so at least there's no CPU teams anymore either! Happy now?"
It's simple math. Unless the number of human owned teams is evenly-divisible by 32, you're going to end up with at least 1 league with CPU teams in each tier. And Bort and Catch usually put those CPU teams down in Normal so that they don't clutter up Elite and Competitive.

Bring back the waiting list to own a team
No thank you. I think the bulk of us remember having 55 dots lined up to be signed with a potential team owner unsure if they were getting a team.
