One thing I've learned about this FB I'm building...is, he has 10 in spin...and no pts in head fake or juke, and spin fires a LOT

Spin is the #1 break tackle skill correct?

And, is it true that if you have head fake, and head fake fires...the head fake firing may have stopped a spin from firing?

If i'm nuts and a newb, thats cool...casual GLB'er...

Fakes like head fake and juke are a little different from break tackle SAs such as spin (and power thru, stiff arm, et c.)

Now the answer to your question is no it doesn't make your player worse. When you have a chance to break a tackle the sim will try your strongest SA first. If spin is your strongest break tackle SA then it starts with that one....if that fails I think you get a chance with your weaker SAs as well (such as lower the shoulder).

EDIT: I'm nearly certain thats how the sim works in this case, but if someone else knows more information they will post it soon.

It also has a lot to do with the running style slider in the dots tactics. More on the power side and the dot will seek contact and attempt to break tackles, more on the elusive side and he will evade defenders and use fakes more often. The height/weight also plays a roll...heavier makes for more broken tackles and lighter makes the dot more agile.

The question is if you leave the running style at "0" in the middle will it give you equal break tackle & fake chances?

Fakes are completely separate from break tackle opportunities. Fakes do not occur when you're being tackled, lol.

Spin isn't #1, Power Through is.

the defenders make that choice for you. Vision check say on a FS weak...or a HH LB strong that is asigned to the FB dead on...that can cause the change in choice for the FB with equal SA/VA

If it ain't #1, it sure is a damn close second. S'pecially with returners. I've seen spin work much more and much more often with returner dots than Power Through does. That said, I don't follow a lot of power backs and their prowess. (Still no new smileys. )

This is stated by Bort, man.
And Power Through help you break tackle without any speed losing, while you will lose some speed when you successfully perform spin.

ive coached power backs with PT and LTS who fired it 5 times a play...
it always seemed the most unstoppable to me, but i don't know how much strength it takes to get it to fire like that.

btw, how does a thread with a title like this still exist

I hear ya... but I'm only reporting what I see. One reason, perhaps, that it's different on returners vs how it works for Power Backs... Returners usually have much higher speed and agility than Power Backs. This helps them retain/regain their speed on returns. So I suspect you're correct when you apply this logic against Powerbacks... that makes more sense too.

 :sigh: (Still no new smileys. )
