seems like a pretty easy and straightforward fix. after you retire a player, keep the player jersey number box next to his name and let him choose any jersey number from 1-99.
clarification:
when you join a team, you can only choose one jersey number and you cannot have the same one twice on a roster. with my suggestion, it would not matter. when you retire, you would get a drop-down box to choose your jersey number like you always do when you go on a roster, BUT this one would not be limited by position or anything. you would get to choose any jersey number from 1-99.
it was nice that glb displays the jersey numbers of your retired players, but you were bound by the fact that you had to choose one on the last team you were on, and if your number was already taken by another player, you could not do anything about it. or if your favorite kick returner wore #1, that is not an option for returners on glb.
it's something small but i thought it would not be hard to do and give a chance for guys like 'jetsown09' a chance to pick #24 for everyone of his retired players....
