So many times people are banned for posting something deemed offensive yet the post in question is left up to view afterward. I suggest that these horrendous, destructive posts people make are edited out so we no longer have to view them. Getting tired of having to see those dreadful posts even after the user has been banned.

I guess have a new rule for mods and admins. If someone gets banned over it the post must be edited.
No edit, no ban.
No edit, no ban.

NGTH and this would be terrible forum moderation.
Speaking from years of experience, half the battle with forum moderation is educating the community on what is and is not allowed. Every forum draws their own lines and the reality is that users will not be experts of your particular forum rules.
If someone is banned over a post and it does require an edit, more often than not I will repeat the inappropriate language in the 'edit note' for all to see. It's a simple step for helping someone (beyond the user being suspended) realize why a particular post was edited.

It is not on the NGTH list... I suppose the work would be the main problem?

You must be one of those mods that ninja bans people and won't edit even the most offensive shit so the userbase won't discover it was you. GLB needs mods with balls.

And lol @ claiming editing out offensive material is NGTH. That's just absolutely ridiculous. And yes, if a single post is so "bad" that it requires a mod to suspend a user it requires an edit. Otherwise, the post was fine and the ban was unjustified.

No way. I want everyone to know how stupid the moderators are for banning over the word "fart."

I counter in saying that many of the rules in section D of the forum rules would not require an edit.

Ah, perhaps I confused "Ban" with "Suspend" however, repeated violations would result in a ban...

Editing out a single post that brought a ban has nothing to do with spamming or repeating minor offenses.
