On the scouting page, where the data is provided for the types of plays (run, pass, short, medium, long, left, right inside out) make the numerical entry in the data a link to a pop up listing the plays where that data occurred. And add Hurries to the data provided. Fumbles Forced would be a nice add on as well.

To explain in the Defensive Scout Page under Passes there is listed how many times the following occurred

TDs Alwd, First Dn Alwd, Losses Frcd.

Make the number that follows these entries be a link to a pop up of the plays where a TD was scored, a first down allowed, or a loss took place just that way the number of WR In plays is a link to a pop up of all WR In plays called.

Then add Hurries Frcd to that list. Also perhaps Fumbles Frcd.

So you want the scouting report just handed to you without any sort of work? Nah.

This would be nice.

It would also be a HUGE amount of work for Bort to set up and would make the scouting page take even LONGER to load and run. So, I'm gonna -1 this one. I think the current Scout page has a good mix of data right now while not taking too long to load, and I'd rather not disrupt that balance.

Change the OP to read "Delete the Scouting System. The Game Should be more tedious to play"

Not really Novus.

Here is why.

As to making the data be a link to the plays, that data is already being called by the scouting page because we are being shown how many Losses were Forced. Its already being printed to the scouting page, because again its being shown to us.

So all Bort would need to do is have the list of plays that incremented the value of Losses Frcd be added to a new variable and then copy and paste the play list pop up routine he already used to show the plays by play type on the scouting page. Change the variable to be the list of Losses Frcd, and voila he is done. That really should not take a great deal of time at all.

Grabbing Hurries and Forced Fumbles would be a little more work, copying and pasting the routine that grabbed the Losses Forced data and editing it to Forced Fumbles and Hurries. But still hardly monumental stuff.

The bang for the buck should be pretty significant, since it would not be much work and would make players have more interesting information to toy with, without spending Obsessive Compulsive Disorder amount of time doing so.

Gathering the hurry and fumbles might make it slower, thats possible. Probably not very but still. Really since all of these plays are being looked at already and hurries and fumbles already being gathered with the text data to summarize the play, I am not sure even that would slow it down.

Making a link out of the data already being used, I don't think that would make it slower at all.

Though I don't like the suggestion, it would honestly depend on how the code is written and how things are stored in the database. With an ideal design, it probably wouldn't be significantly harder. Based on how some parts of the game run, however, I suspect there are some areas in the data model that could be improved on. Not a knock on Bort, obviously, since the data model for something like GLB is likely very intricate and hard to get into that "ideal" status.

-1 from me sorry Yello1 but to me this makes it to easy for people to scout. there should be some work involved in scouting and gameplanning. that is what makes the difference between a good team and a crappy team if the builds are relatively close.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Horsy. Am I missing something? Everyone complains that the game is like a job yet we can't add something it might take work away from someone!?! I just don't get it. I'll +1 this even though this is a fruitless adventure since all the Admins have left the game.

what you say is right to a extent and maybe I read what Yello1 was wanting wrong. but to me scouting isn't that hard in reality. and given the way the game is now basically most people are capable of making good dots. so the only real difference in the game now is the scouting and coordinating. so to me that aspect of the game should favor the people that put the time and effort into the job. based on my knowledge of Yello1 he is basically wanting something that he can click a button and then he gets a report telling him what plays to use or what type of defense to use. he wants something for nothing basically and that wouldn't be the least bit fair to the agents that have taken the time to learn how to scout and gameplan.
