‘Twas the middle-aged years of this game we play,
which only just recently exited Beta, yay?
Not that it matters, the concept’s the same,
to us it is magical; to those on the outside it is totally lame.
Content aside, I think most would agree
the forums are where one will find the most glee.
The same old clowns chirp on GLB main
whilst lurkers abound seeking secrets to gain.
There’s whining, gloating and endless chest-thumping
and I vaguely recall a thread for bumping when dumping.
Proper grammar is rare, trolling is not;
to paraphrase many: “Hey, look at my dot!”
There are joke threads and whine threads, and locks abound;
but that balloon-toting fellow is nowhere to be found.
Many yearn for a return to days long passed,
when day-old threads on Main wouldn’t last.
For Bort, he hath forsaken us, one cannot deny,
and all the old vets are left wondering, why?
The powers that be say a new game is coming!
and upon its release they hope we’ll go running.
But let me get back to the topic of Beta
Supposedly it means they won’t change the data.
Yet two seasons in the changes count thirty
so you can hardly describe the Sim as sturdy.
Regardless, the game lives on and competition thrives
no longer can you run an O with just TE Drives.
Sure the usual suspects remain WL contenders
but with six different champs there are few pretenders.
So here we sit in the midst of holiday season
and chances are, your weather is freezin’.
That lends to ample time to be spent indoors,
But not with your family, your friends or your chores.
No no, you must park your butt in front of the ‘puter
and drink yourself into a merry cross-eyed stupor.
Else you might miss that blithering idiot’s post,
in response to your comment about which AEQ stack you like most.
But in the end it’s all worth it, for the reward is great;
something to be proud of, and boast to your mates.
It’s a trophy, of course, but not one that is shiny;
in fact you can’t even hold it, and it is rather tiny.
But it will reside on your profile for all to see
that you were the champion of Regional Minor Competitive #3.
The greatest benefit of this? it will give you much stroke
when you later post publically about the Sim being a joke.
A sincere good luck to all gamers out there;
if your team is the suck: it’s the Sim, it’s not fair.
