Ok, i have a player on my team that wants to start at LOLB but he fits better at MLB. He is starting at MLB, he already told me he won't be resigning for next year which is fine by me as i can just get a replacement. But today he sent me a pm saying he wants to be released.

Now my question is should i be an ass and not release him or release him but lose a valuable player and hurt the team?

Have him find you a replacement player.

If he wants to go to another team, request a trade from that team for him.

Failing the above, remind him that you are not obligated to release him, and that you need his player at a specific position. He can either cooperate, or his player gets benched.

If he becomes a real problem, trade him away to any team that will take him.

I would just release him. I don't like cancer agents. Most team's have enough LB's on the roster to make it work , I would rather have a CPU dot than some asshat that isn't about helping the team.

I have a lower level returner archetype dot. I made a FA ad in off-season stating I did not want him playing defense (it's a CB returner) and was only interested in signing with a team that would use him as a returner, no defensive plays.

Owner sent me a PM stating my dot would be the returner and assured me of NO defensive CB duties.
My dot has never played at any returner position yet since signing, and is in fact playing CB on defense. The dot doing the returning is a WR NON returner archetype.

I have never said a thing in team forums about it, nor have I PM'd the owner of how I feel about him blatantly lying about my dot's roll on the team. I just will not re-sign with them if offered a contract and added that owner to the ever increasing list I keep of owners to never sign with.

Anyways, yea I would just cut him , save yourself the headache and continue on.

I've also never lied and put them somewhere where i said i wouldnt because well, what the fuck?!? he signed a contract and as long as you didnt tell him he was going to play olb, id tell him to go fuck himself.

You've never had a bad agent. So your opinion means nothing

If you would like I can pretend to be a bad agent, and trust me your opinion will change right quick

Put him as back up at LOLB and tell him that you agree to disagree and that he should honor his contract. If nothing was discussed about what his position was pre-signing then that is on him. He is at least obligated to finish out his contract IMO

i dont recruit bad agents

2 easy steps:
1- pm block
2- forum ban

let that motherfucker ride out that contract. tell him to stop being an idiot and just enjoy the fact that hes playing. hell if he was on my rookie team, id bench him. i cant coordinator shit with dots under 160 days old so idc if he rode the bench all year.

You screwed up when recruiting me, im a super-bad agent. Just ask anyone

I dunno, I just think it's easier to just cut him than to have to PM block and forum ban. That would kinda make me stoop to his level, for lack of better words.

I ain't got time for that !

This is a game(albeit an expensive one in my case) and I don't want to bother with the frustration. Would rather just add name to my blacklist and be done with it. Kill it with fire.

You could just mention it Bane.

People forget.

And sometimes they forget to set up their ST Depth Chart too.

As an owner I positively would appreciate a pleasant polite reminder PM from agents in a situation like that.

@ The OP

I have had dipstick agents ranting and raving before, and gone both ways on it. Usually I release em because DILLIGAFF. But one time the guy came across like such an asshat to begin with, and the team chemistry was edgy and I thought we might be able to compete. So I tried to accomodate him as to play time, but he was a slow azzed LB and I just could not in good faith to the other players put him in pass coverage with his speed of 3 or whatever it was. We got thrown on alot so his play time was not high. I think his stamina sucked too which didnt help.

In retrospect it was more aggravation than it was worth. I was right, he was wrong. But thats not really important so much as having fun. And pissing matches are rarely fun.

I would release the dot. I'd say "and make sure you never sign the agent again" but I always forget who my "enemies" are myself. Funny when I get a hostile PM back from an offer when that happens. I'm like, sorry dude but I couldnt be bothered to remember you, my bad and drive on. So release em forget about it.
