I've never seen so many before, my PR just had 13 of them in one game...Has something changed this season? I checked to see if it was a setting on tactics and it's not, i'm a little irked. The other team was CPU and the kicks were short, but so were the 3 that he actually got a chance to return. Is there a reason for so many fair catches other than "fuck it, GLB does what GLB does"

Even if you don't want to watch the replays to find out, look at the text. The ones you returned were 13+ yard punts. The ones you FC'd were 10 and shorter. Since they were using a guard to punt (at least in the last 2 plays) the punting team was going to have exceptionally bad punts. 6 yards is about the FC distance, so the only one you might complain about would be the 3rd from the bottom with the LG about 7 yards away but dots are big so it's hard to say exactly how far he was, but it wasn't excessively far.

If you want to get more returns, play teams that actually have players playing the correct position- CPU or not.

6 yards for the FC distance works as an answer from me...that was legitimately a question. I Figured it had something to do with them being short punts, guess i just hadn't really seen that before and got worried

i have noticed more fc`s but most likely its a result of a good st`s coach shutting my returner down...i actually though there was a problem as well

As a ST coach I quickly realized that teams with piss poor punters, that couldn't kick a hackey sack 2 feet, caused a TON of Fair catches simply because the damn football only went 15 yards, meaning the returner caught the ball surrounded by the offensive and defensive linemen... forcing the fair catch (lest the poor returner became accidently trampled by a herd of 300 pound linemen). Sucks but it's life, ya know?

Some awesome user put a suggestion about a fair catch slider, but THE MAN is keeping it down.

Roger Gooddell is concerned with the safety of our dots so he advised Bort to code that a PR fair catches if a defender is closer than 10 yards away.

Those concussions are NOT good, no.

Shorter punts will always create more Fair Catches. And on a non-CPU team, there's always a chance the Punter has his slider set to Max Hang Time instead of Max Distance. We did that a while back after those few seasons where PRTD's were out of control.
