I like the depth of player building. Despite what some may claim, there is a wide, wide, WIDE range of applicable builds. Some do suck, and some fill such a small niche that you'll either not find a team or not be worth a roster spot, or both...but there is a lot of depth to it., and I know for a fact that I wouldn't have stuck around if it was as "streamlined" as something like Diablo 3. I guess I just like exploring the mechanics of games and trying to push them to their limits to see what happens.

I know this will get a lot of attempts at sarcasm or the usual "because I have flex left", but be honest, you wouldn't be playing if you weren't enjoying some aspect. I have a few million gold in Diablo 3, yet I'm not playing it because I don't enjoy it.

the lack of a refund button. and the people I have met on here. I will always need something to keep me busy while I am at work.

Yeah, the social aspect is really a huge thing for me I guess. I prefer the forum atmosphere in general infinitely more than most other forums.

Feel free to hand your D3 gold over to me. I'm playing that more than GLB now.

I would, but I can't even be bothered to cash out the gold, let alone give it to someone that I don't even like.

I guess I could be bothered to cash out the gold, except I'm against the whole concept of the RMAH to begin with, so fuck them.

I have nothing better to do. GLB has been a lot of fun for me at various times, but few of the people who were part of that fun still remain. I miss the CPL forum. I miss the Hali forum. I miss being one of the underdogs who got disrespected by people like coachviking. I miss feeling genuinely nervous, furiously clicking refresh to see a new score. I miss having a full DPC. So yeah, the community was awesome for a while and the game itself has given me a lot of enjoyment. The DPC kept me around for a long time and is still something I enjoy tinkering with from time to time. I do also like the variety of player builds possible, plus it was fun as a coordinator to use unique builds.

I actually preferred coordinating before the DPC.

The DPC seemed, for me anyway, to create a situation where more was less. Before the DPC, you just figured out what settings worked against various plays, then meshed them together and threw in different percentages and hoped for the best. The DPC created a situation where you just made the best play and slight variations of that and run those. More work for a less enjoyable experience.

Nah, back in the day you could come up with some crazy things using the DPC. It was a lot of fun to try new things and find reasons to use the craziest ones. I get why that wouldn't appeal to everyone, but designing plays is a lot of fun for football junkies like me.

Oh, I thoroughly enjoyed the creation of plays in theory...but in practice, it just turned into running the plays that exploited mechanics the best.

Same here. The over load blitzes and seeing an offense never targeted a HB or FB so I wouldn't even cover them and I would send like 8 blitzers It was fun to get creative and take chances and then an OC would see what I was doing and would burn me on it in the playoffs. That's when it was a real chess match of strategies.

It's hard to beat the glory days of Hali taking the gold with the HB Flood

Maybe for some, but not for me. I have always had the biggest DAI in GLB both because I like my defense to be realistic in the sense of not running the same thing repeatedly, and because it's more fun for me to watch a bunch of different plays. Limiting the DPC is what forced me to use Play X and Play Y 20+ times a game, which is annoying.
