Actually I'm not sure that is correct.

Pass blocking until the ball is caught, I believe.

Question- Are screens considered passes, or considered rushes? Pulling linemen no longer works on screens because it is a pass... but cut blocks work on screens and only work on rushing plays... so which is it? are screens rushes or passes?

Answer- As to the other question, screens are sort of a combination of passes and runs. Blockers pass block to start the play, and then transition to run blocking when they break off and form the screen. They are technically classified as passes, but most VA's and SA's are situational based on the type of blocking a player is doing, not the type of play they are running.

So does that mean that once a WR/TE catches the ball and begins to "run" that it switches to run blocking as well or just for screen plays?

Completely correct. Works the same way for any part of the game. Receiver catches the ball; now is considered a runner; run blocking applies. CB intercepts the ball; now considered a runner; run blocking applies. (Ect, ect, ect.)

Um, yea. When would they pass block?

In the context of player tactics I always assumed it was "blocking during pass plays or blocking during run plays". Never thought it as actual run blocking and pass blocking....

Oy Vey.

Yea, and it's a good idea to have all your defensive dots set to run block as well.

Do that using the quick tactics editor.

Works on INT and Fumble returns.

Also on ST's it's always run block

Probably one of the better questions yello has asked in a while....contrary to the thread title.

I learned something here today.....
