i got an PM today from someone obviously new wanting to find a spot for their player... being the nice guy that I am I replied, made some polite suggestions about why the agent should retire the dot and copied a link to the newbie/FAQ forum--the kind of things most people would do to try to help someone new (and, in this case, possibly not a native English speaker).

anyway, it would be nice if GLB had an EASY (ONE CLICK) way for existing customers/agents to mark a new customer/agent and make sure they get the help/support they need. the game has such a huge learning curve and documentation is inconsistent.

so my suggestion would be to somehow click on a check box on the newbies home page that would, in effect, say "this guy needs some help" and he would automatically get something in his inbox to ease his entry into the game

It's a nasty learning curve if there's no help.

Huge flaw is when I mark someone needing help just to mess with them.

There's a current suggestion runnin around for a "News Paper" for GLB. This thread here and that thread there caused me to have a 5-watt moment of brilliance. FAQ forum is nice... but it requires both a poster and good repliers. Might I suggest a Mod-post-only forum titled "A quick guide for new players." There should be no build suggestions or personal takes... but simple, easy to understand explanations about the very basics (yeah... I know about wiki... I've been to wiki... you want confusion? Go to wiki and spend several hours of your life there trying to find simple answers). Like what are BT's and what can they be spent on. Flow charts for aging, training, ALG's, and such. Just the very basic simple stuff I see posted, and re-posted, and re-posted, and re-posted over and over again for the simple questions new players have... over and over again. I believe it's called being "user friendly"... which GLB kinda ain't. (Sorry guys... just callin it as I see it.) The forum could be updated as new changes happen (which should be much less now that we're out of BETA) by the mods. Mods could troll (which they do) the FAQ forum for ideas on what stuff should be in this new forum... stuff they see over and over again. It would not eliminate the NEED for wiki... but it sure would make reading that stuff a bit more understandable.
