if I retire a free player, can I make another free player?


also this is random but if a player is released, is there a window as to how long you have to wait to sign with another team, and when you sign is there a period you have to wait to be able to play?

Yes to the first question.

There isn't a waiting period to sign with another team, but there is a 20 day waiting period to re-sign with the team you were cut from. You might have to wait until after roll-over to get contracts automatically, but after you are released, you can sign right away.

The only delay in signing if dropped is if you want to go back to the team that dropped you. There is a 20 day wait period on that. There is no wait period for signing with another team. With regards to playing, you can only play 1 game every 2 days, so if you played a game the same day you were dropped, you could not play a game the next day for a different team. Otherwise, there is no wait period for playing a game.
