QBs get throwing tactics, HBs get rushing tactics, It seems silly to me that I can set how my receiver attempts blocks or tackles, but I can't set how he attempts catches.

The current tactics look like this:

Ball Carrying
Running Style
power---balanced---elusive

Receiving
Route Running Style
creative---exact

The ball carrying running style and the route running style are both just that - "running styles" - it makes no sense that the way a receiver runs routes should be under "receiving" ... Therefore, my suggestion: house both of those under one roof and swap the headers:

Running Style
Route Running Style
creative---exact
Ball Carrying
power---balanced---elusive

Then ADD the following true receiving tactic:

Receiving
Catching Style (-100 to +100 slider)
elusive---secure

Elusive would be for guys who want their players to instead of slowing down so much to catch the ball, at -100 they would only slow enough to get their fingertips on the ball outstretch their arms and fingertips, but sacrificing catching ability and perhaps bobbling the ball - the catch is secondary to maintaining speed.

Secure would be for the guys who want or need to get a dot to get a better grab at it, prevent a KL, etc... - at +100 the receiver would come to a full stop and get a bonus to fully securing the ball quickly.

At the middle of the slider (0), the receiver would balance his effort to secure the ball with his effort to maintain speed.

Even if you don't agree with my add, the current selection under Receiving does not belong there, it is even titled "running style"...

Doesnt the dependancy on whether a ball is caught "elusively" or more "securely" dependant on things like how well the route was run, how close coverage is, how well the ball was thrown? If you want to catch the ball securely, get your catch to 100 for example. What am I missing here?

That's like saying the dependency upon whether a HB should run powerfully or elusively is controlled entirely upon how much strength or agility he has. Should we get rid of QB throwing tactics, HB rushing tactics, tackling tactics and just get strength or agility to 100 instead? It's a tactic, now how good he is at a certain activity.

The other two positions' tactics allow for a possible bonus/penalty system for their playmaking abilities...WR should too.
Even if rng > everything...
