.......I'm going through my second PM sparing session with a backup (HB this time) this season that wants to be released. This game that just happened, we played a tough team and he didn't get many carries. Last game, against a weaker team, he got 40+ plays, a bunch of carries and a TD. We have a 21 point cutoff to play the backups when we are winning big to try to be cool to the backups. I've even had starters complain because they can't pad their stats.
Like last time, I never promised this guy he would be a starter. I told him his activity would depend on the caliber of the team we are playing. Yet, despite the fact he signed a 1 season contract and got a signing bonus and a salary.......and despite the fact that in the 2nd half of the season it would be a double hit against team chemistry......he selfishly wants out. And he wants me to f*** myself.
Here is my message to him and players like him:
When you accepted that contract, it was a completely unilateral decision. The team owner didn't click the accept button, Bort didn't click the accept button, no one did but you. Now, you aren't pleased with the decision that you and you alone made. Why am I as the owner responsible, in any way, for your actions? I'm not - honor your contract.
