Was just looking at an old dot and noticed he had Mentor VA and was reminded how cool I thought that was to have in the game.
S0 - Mentor - Bring it back as a background effect.
Meaning, reward teams that have elder leaders on the squad automatically.
At game time check for Mentors on the team. There could be one Mentor per position on the team.
The Mentor candidate would be the oldest dot at the position, but only if that dot is at least 40 days older than at least one dot at the same position, determined by player position not depth chart position (ie LB to all other LBs on the team regardless of depth chart assignments), and also the same level or higher than any other dots at that position.
Once identified the Mentor candidate makes a roll to activate his Mentoring for the day. The chance of activating Mentor would be a percentage based chance (1-100) based upon the average of his Vision and Confidence, plus 1 for each level of any General SA and Natural Leader VA the dot has plus 1 for each non tournament Championship Trophy and each MVP trophy the dot has. Thus if a dot has a General SA of 10 and a 15 Natural Leader and Vision and Confidence average out to 75 then he will always activate his Mentoring skill.
If the Mentor is active for the game, all dots in the same position as the Mentor may receive a percentage boost equal to the Mentor Bonus to their Vision and Confidence. The Mentor Bonus is received only for dots that are lower in age by at least 40 days and whose level is not higher than the Mentor. The amount of the Boost is 1 percent for each full 40 days the dot is younger than the Mentor multiplied one plus by the number of levels between the dots level and the mentors level, with a cap of a 5% bonus. So if a dot is 3 levels lower and 40 to 79 days younger than the Mentor the boost would be 3%, if 81 to 119 days younger and 2 levels lower the boost would be 4%, etc.
In this way it would pay to have a few quality grizzled old veterans on the team.
In this way a dot who is older and
