Is there any good active forums out there that could help a new DC
Forum > FAQ's, Player Guides and Newbie Help > Defensive Coordinator Private Forum
Doubt you'll find that in a single forum. If you scout out many of the forums (don't forget OLD threads!) you can find some gems of info. But most awesome DC's (and OC's) try hard to keep their bets secrets close to their vests. A better bet would be to find a real good DC (might just check rankings on matchup pages for a real good defensive team) and ask them if they would personally help out as an adviser (rather than as a DC coach themselves). That way you'd more likely get the answers you want without busting your chops looking for it.

I had access to a DC private forum and it was mostly dead with old information. What wasn't old info was shit I knew well before joining. Not sure if it's the same one, though.

Actually it's quite the opposite. The best ones usually don't mind sharing, while it's the next tier who thinks they need to keep secrets. The main reason top coordinators don't help a lot is because they're busy with the time-sink of coordinating, but most of us will take time for a question.

Just wanted to be clear that people shouldn't avoid asking questions because they assume they won't get an answer.

Yeah... I just realized folks thought I was saying coaches don't share when I meant they don't share IN OPEN FORUMS where everyone can see what they're doing (and that really makes game planning easy!). I've never had any issue with any coach not personally answering my questions... but never in open forums. Not the good one's anyways.
