1. Don't use hook threads. Damn, matmc'romo beat me
2. It depends. Loss of XP, in the long run does not matter as long as you boost all 30 times you will reach level 79. There are times when it can be advantageous to boost early (reaching level 25 and 35 for example for more VXP). The only penalty otherwise is potential lowered training gains, and short term XP loss where you could be slightly behind other players by the end of a season XP wise.

I guess i'd suggest- other than season 2 and 3 of your career, boost on day 48. Some seasons it won't really matter when you boost since XP and VXP won't change but in general you're probably better off just waiting till day 48 for boosting

It's not that black and white... sometimes boosting 1 time can get you to a level that waiting till the end of the season cannot. get you to.

Well......I'd say he is going to leave this thread more confused than when he posted his question.

Unfortunately it's not really a quick answer question. Much of the answer is opinion and what works for your specific player, which is good for some variation in builds.

As a general rule though, i'd go with my #2 point. Boost day 48 except S2 and S3 to reach the first/next VXP increase and you should be good to go. The trouble comes in when you have teams requesting boosts other than those times in order to take advantage of levels over another team. But ignoring that my suggestion should be pretty good for most players.

How do people refer tho their seasons?

Example:

Create day 40. Boost from level 1 to level 4 on day 48. Is this season 1? Or is season 1 the season you actually play games?

Season starts you at Level 32. At level 35 the VXP given per day goes up, so boosting from 32 to 35 gives you more VXP.

I consider creation season, day 40-48+, to be S0 (season 0)
S1 would be rookie/peewee
and so on. S6/S7 would be where most players stop receiving XP depending how they boost. S8 would be their first plateau season (age 281+)

After the 1st season, there's no real reason to wait to boost.

The basic formula is

Create day 40-48
Boost to L4
Do not boost in the regular season 1st year
If the playoffs are super important to your team, then boost. If not then get more training done before Boosting.

With this formula you'll end the season at L19 instead of L18 +xp.

Other than that, the benefits of playing boosted will out weigh xp gains.

Once you become super high tech, you'll find that it's better to time your boosts to coincide with training gains, but don't worry about that too much right now.

and as stated before... as long as you boost every season you'll hit max level 79 any way you go.
