Speed in the 70's to get that second level block on the LB's.
You will also no doubt be blocking on ST's so you will need that speed as well.

Make it your Number 4 priority...
In other words, don't take it to the 70's until Strength and Blocking and Agility (possibly vision based on build) are done.

For special teams, first step and special teamer VA do a lot.

Does your offense ask your guards to pull often? If so, you might want more speed/agility than if you don't run a lot of sweeps/pitches.

Between 70 and 90 on guards and centers, but I'd only go 60-68 on tackles.

why so low on tackles ?
I usually take their SPD to c.80

So, it would have more "importance" to have "low" speed on a pass-focused OT like a LOT than a run blocking one?

Allowing (for some stupid reason) more sacks....Just because a dot has higher speed doesn't mean that it should preform poorly because of it. This needs to be fixed.

I asked that the OT drop-back point be moved up, but either they disagree or don't care. In any case, OTs only pull on a couple of plays and don't need to move far on screens if those actually start working again. High speed helps a lot on Gs & Cs because Bort's weird blocking code has them running outside to pick up blitzers.

fwiw, my OTs all have speed over 80 and don't seem to have a particular problem with giving up sacks.

I like high speed on centers for the same reason as jdbolick. I have 90 on mine and he does a good job of picking up blitzers on the outside, while still being able to do a decent job when run blocking.

The same can be said about guards in the current sim... although my 90 speed guards did stupid shit a couple of seasons ago. I would say that guards are more support (pass)blockers in this sim, which means that for both Cs and Gs you can easily get by with 80 and FS. That'd be my goal if I were to make new ones.

On OTs it's much more important to have solid primaries than to worry about speed. which makes speed less important... if you can maintain a solid build and still get 80 speed, that's fine... most can't, though.
I think the target is probably 68+ depending on the final build (and no FS).

I think this is the critical point...speed is not going to hurt your OT and will indeed help in many cases....but your primaries need to be up to snuff first and foremost.

First Step however remains a pretty mixed bag at OT.

Also, I agree with all that's been said about G's and Cs regarding speed.

This is false. The drop-back point on OTs was never changed from the old days under the full DPC where you could split DEs extremely wide and race around the OT to reach the quarterback. As such, OTs in the current sim who have high speed or First Step will often drop back more than halfway to the quarterback before engaging their assignment. Now tautology gets away with that because his OTs are extremely well built and usually hold their blocks, but it's still better to engage the DE as far from the QB as possible to allow for re-engagement when the block is eventually broken.

To clarify, high speed is not as bad as First Step because FS can actually make the OT go beyond the drop-back point. Still, I would rather have my OTs engaging as far away from the QB as possible.
