Give O'linemen a down and distance blocking array that would allow agent to adjust the O'linemen's 'ability' to adjust blocking focus based on OC's Game Plan.

AI would select through until down and distance is found, pull the blocking focus and proceed on with normal logic.

or

give the OC the ability to alter the blocking focus in the play just as he/she can alter the look-off progression play-to-play.
example: say for the HB Screen Strong (Weak I) play there's a selection set just like the progression ( LOT - no focus/LG- no focus/C - pass focus/RG - run focus/ROT - run focus )

the suggestion has merit and for a small amount of coordinators this would be very useful. but for the majority of coordinators this would just be adding more work to coordinating. right now the time constraints of coordinating is rough already by adding this it makes it even more time consuming.

as a OC I would like to see it implemented but as a coordinator with not alot of time to spare already I hope it isn't added because it just adds more time to coordinating that I do not have.

the biggest problem here is it takes away the ONLY meaningful tactics setting an agent has for an OL dot and gives it to the coordinator, and that's pretty much NGTH (or at least without a lot of objection from me and others).

I'd support a suggestion to make this part of an agents tactics rather than the AI, and that would ease hatchman's objections as well

well if it becomes a players tactics then that still creates more work as well. look at the agents with a ton of dots and think how long it would take to go in and adjust the tactics on each and every dot to whatever the coordinators asked. I am not trying to be a stick in the mud here guys seriously. I am mostly playing devils advocate but either way that this suggestion would be implemented would mean more work than what we currently have. something like this could work if it didn't take so long to already coordinate. on the same token as fogie stated if it was in the players tactics then that means any agent with 30 or 40 dots are getting hammered with even more tactics changes. I know changing the tactics on a couple of dots only takes a couple of minutes. but you compound that with 40 or 50 dots and basically a person would have to set aside a couple of hours to get all the dots tactics set.

i think the extra work wouldnt be too bad if it was included in the quick tactics editor. i have, and always will be against OL only having a single blocking tactics. archetype VAs, and SAs should determine if you have an advantage when you run or pass block, not "sorry coach, i know its 4th and inches and we are going to run, but i can only pass block this game". the offense never has to guess if its a running or passing play.

If there was a way to implement it that the agents with a ton of dots didn't have to do so much extra changes I would be for it. but I do not like the idea of whatever OC my dots are playing for having the ability to do anything to the tactics of my Dots. so if it could be done where there wouldn't be a ton of changes involved then I could possibly get behind the addition of it.
