To aid the noob and veteran idiot reclamation system, I suggest that GLB Institutionalize the Rate My Player Forums, Add Rate My AI Forums.

What this means is

Institutionalize - Have the Devs and Forum Moderators who know about such things have added to their duties a response to every post in the "Rate My" and "Position Talk" forums. Make sure that every question by a player seeking build advice is answered by someone "In The Know". Annointed "Build Moderators" might be a nice addition to fit into this role.

Rate My AI Forums - same same with players posting their AIs and moderators tasked to help them. A "Printable Version" on the AI screen might help with this.

To help people learn the game better, so that they do not get frustrated and quit.

The game has no documentation and fairly hit and miss assistance from the player base, with inconsistent availability and accuracy of advice.

This leads to 0-16 100-0 losses and useless dots and Frak this game Ima outta here.

Thats a bad thing.

A better noob assistance program would be nice.

Making sure that when people ask about build or AI advice on the Forums that they will get at least one qualified worthwhile answer - and in a timely fashion - would be a big step in that direction.

Big -1 to mandatory posting/help, especially from labeled "sources" that would inevitably only be challenged when advice was subjective.

+1 that those forums (Rate my Player and Position Talk) need a change, but Pallow already has heard enough of my opinion on the matter, lol.

You would definitely need to vette the mods so that the guys posting actually are knowledgeable on the subject.

And a bit of boiler plate disclaimer to be in every post might not be a bad addition as well.

But I think any help thats from someone who is a good dot builder or AI guy would be better than the crickets interspersed with unknown quality assistance and the flurry of not terribly informative even if accurate "retire imo" that we see now.

More help from the Devs for players on the two biggest key aspects of the game is a Bad Idea????

This must be some definition of bad idea with which I am unfamiliar.

Yeah... hate to say this Yellow but this one is bad. Reasons below;
#1, the way it is now encourages those who wish to get better to do 1 of 2 things... either take your lumps and learn the hard way (as many have done) or seek out other GBL'ers who are willing to accept you into their world and teach you along the way (as many others have also done). This interaction is as important to GLB as most anything else it does. You're talking about "teams" here and that requires teamwork to succeed.
#2, such knowledge is ever changing as the game changes AND is also usually somewhat guarded by those that have learned it. Not that they won't/don't give advice or help newbies... but that posting it in the forums simply invites their competition to read their playbooks. Not good.
#3, as long as GLB keeps WIKI updated decently... and as long as the forums don't get wiped clean... there's more than enough info out there about all of this stuff that the OP really isn't needed.

Again, I'm always behind ideas that shorten the amount of time one needs to spend here to be successful... as long as it never interferes with the quality of the game.

I thought that was just assumed when opening a yello thread.

-1 too much subjectivity, one person's idea of good advice isn't necessarily the same as another persons... better to cast a wider net and get more differing opinions... especially as quickly and as often and things change...also, there is so much that no one but Bort (or maybe a few Admins) actually know--answers from anyone else is often just a guess or assumption
