I like your intention. Here is my proposal and I don't have the time or energy to develop the details so here it goes off the top of my head:

World Championship League [(WCL)not to be confused with Western Europe Pro League (WEPL]:

This league consists of the champions of each league (pro leagues only from the previous season). For instance, "Team X" from WEPL in season 3 is promoted to the WCL. They compete with all other winners ("Team X's") of all other pro leagues for the World Championship. At the end of the WCL only the champion stays (or maybe the top 4 teams...whatever). All other teams are demoted to their respective pro leagues and the winners of the league they were demoted to will now have a chance at the WCL.

The logistics of this may be difficult, but I think this would add 2 assets. 1)Worldwide parity and 2)World champion bragging rights.

Thoughts?

Edit: per Prietman's correction. Thanks.

World Championship League should be WCL not WPL.

I think if there is going to be one, it should be an offseason tournament, not an entire season. And EVERYBODY, including the winner, should go back to their old pro league after the tournament is completed.

I happen to like the WEPL and don't want to get promoted to another league.

TBH for an offseason world championship thing, they should set up a BCS-like bowl series.

If this operated like the Champions League of Football (Soccer) then it would have to run alongside the regular season with all the champs of the previous season competing in a knockout tournament.

However, to fit the games in, they would have to be slotted between league games, which would mean going 24 hours between games more often than not, which would cause problems with stamina and energy.

You could see to it that for CL-games every players' stamina would be 100 for instance

Having played and coached and otherwise been involved in most of the leagues available...

WEPL is more enjoyable and challenging than all the other leagues.

US Pro is shite for atmosphere and general interest. Top teams are great, rest are worthless. The level differences are stupid and far from making it the best league, it makes it a league free of tactics, upsets and excitment.
And the forums are full of rubbish.

Canada PRO is not bad, some very poor teams, but that happens, the forums are pretty diabolical though, and again top teams have no clue what the tactics tab looks like, just playing the exact same crap every game for three seasons (Why not when your winning against cupcake teams.)

Asia, South America and Eastern Europe are also a shambles, but have one or two good teams each, again the forums are pathetic.

The lower leagues have some Very Good teams and some very active and constructive Forums.

The general theme of all leagues is that fuckwits outnumber normal people by 5:1, in the WEPL it seems that number is slightly in favour of normal people, although the fuckwit ratio has jumped up considerably this season.

And as usual when impotent pricks start flaming posts, the intelligent people stop contributing to the community aspect.
