New owner here, will I get more funds with the new season? or do i need to get a loan? I'm afraid dots won't want to sign when they see the negative sign.
Forum > FAQ's, Player Guides and Newbie Help > How do I get out of the Negative?
If you just bought a team, the team funds and stadium should have been reset. You can contact support to get that fixed.
If you had the team this last season, your only choice is to get a loan. Be sure to offer minimum salary contracts and focus on completing your stadium. You will sell tickets in the preseason which should cover your salary if you keep your salary under control and focus on expanding your stadium.

If you have had the team for a while and you are running negative...then you need to find yourself a CFO to run the team finances so you don't spend all your team cash. Your players can release themselves if you go negative too long.

Yes, this is the 2nd season I have had the team, and have lost a few players releasing themselves. I have offered the few players I have left a smaller contract to see if we can get closer to positive with the loan. Should I take the loan out then use it all on the stadium?

Yes.
Buy new sections before buying seats. Any left over cash after buying sections should go to seats. Once the season rolls over, and the construction is done, your finance tab will show you how much money you will make and how much your salary costs will be. It does not show you concessions, so you can add another $2 - 3 million for your 8 home game concession sales. So long as your income is higher than your salary, you will stay in the positive next season. However, you still need to save as much as you can for expansion next offseason.

I posted this in another thread for an owner in a similar situation. I just finished my second season as an owner, and my stadium will be completed during the next off-season. By following the advice in this guide, I was able to generate enough revenue to build 6 new sections (8 with a loan) this year.
You can't afford big contracts or promotions unless you build the stadium. Having started in Regional Minor and advanced to Semi-Pro, if I didn't build the stadium in a hurry, I wouldn't be able to compete due to salary costs. So you need to have a plan.
Throughout the season, I make sure I sell out all seats and maximize concession sales. I constantly project out my end of season profits. This season, those projections kept going upward as I earned a playoff birth, then home field advantage throughout the playoffs (including the championship game). It began around $2 M, then went up to $5 M, then $10 M, and ended up actually being $12 M in profit. If I hadn't made the playoffs, profit only would have been $5.5 M. Projecting revenue as the situation changed allowed me to plan how to build my stadium within a set time-frame. I also had to learn a few things about setting prices on tickets and concessions so I could gain larger profits.
One thing you need to remember while building up cash flow: avoid buying promotions. They are too expensive early on. Salaries and construction eat up all your cash until the stadium is complete. Once the stadium is done, you should have extra cash to spend on promotions instead.

Unfortunately, that guide does not apply to this situation. That guide assumes that you are starting out as a rookie team with a reset stadium and cash. The OP does not have that luxury, since he is in a National Minor's league with the larger salary costs that go with it.

they also give you a lot more money to start with and you don't start with an empty stadium
he can use the ticket pricing portion and still go min salaries until he finishes the stadium

With that said, reddog raises an interesting thought. Since a new casual team costs the same as renewal, perhaps your best option is to sell your existing team and buy a new National Minor Casual team. Doing that would give you much more cash and a more complete stadium than you have right now.
Your current team does not have any trophys that you would lose by doing that. The only issue would be getting your current players to agree to move with you. If you can do that, you would be much better off for the future. There are alot of CPU teams available in the other National Minor Casual league.

During my first season, I wasn't much better off. I had $150,000 in cash, and had to take out a loan to add a new section to generate more cash during pre-season ticket sales. I had to convince a number of agents to take lower salaries to bring payroll under control. Then I had to learn about ticket and concession prices. Making the playoffs was a huge boost for updating the stadium.
Being in an Elite league, he might want to buy a different casual team in one of the non-Elite leagues, then re-sign a bunch of his players. Like it was mentioned, the stadium and cash would reset. However, he would also have a better chance at going deep into the playoffs. That would go a long way toward getting the team on strong financial footing. Plus he can follow the strategy laid out in the guide to get the stadium complete in 3 seasons.
So, I think reddog and Plankton have the right idea.

Thank you all for your advice. I am going to stick with the team I have, and make it work. I have taken a loan out and it gave me just over 1.3 mil. I built one new section, that was all I had enough for. Should I start adding seats now? I'm 300K short for the other endzone which would finish up all of my 100 seating.
