Warrior General Games

The losers of the semi-final (conference championship) games play each other anyway. Why not add a bronze medal for the team that wins that game?

More medals can't hurt - people like medals. Difficult to imagine it would take more than 5 seconds to make the gif, and Gold/Silver/Bronze has a precedent already. Also adds one more meaningful game if people want. I don't see any negatives.

they already hand out 3rd place trophies for all the other awards

don't see the harm, but a "third place" trophy takes GLB further from simulating real (particularly pro) football. who even remembers who loses the NFC and AFC championships? maybe for a season or two your remember, other than that only when it was a big upset or some team (like the Eagles did for a while) seemed to lose the conference game every year.

perhaps rather than have an extra game for 3rd place, just give both conference runners-up a "conference runner-up" trophy

-1 from me no need to add a trophy like this. if it is added it is no better than a participation ribbon.

A rose by any other name... People will know what the bronze trophy represents regardless of what you call it or what it looks like. Soccer/Futball plays 3rd place games, the Olympics play 3rd place games, it's not totally crazy. If people can get medals for doing absolutely nothing on a team as a lolGM why can't they get medals for winning a 3rd place game? It's not like that would be an easy game in most Pro leagues. In some it would be the equivalent of 2 WL teams going head-to-head.

If we are talking about simulating real football no one gets a trophy for losing the championship game in football. You each get a trophy for winning your division, but that is not really analogous to a gold/silver because those trophies are of equal weight. In other words the AFC champion doesn't get their trophy "upgraded" if they win the Super Bowl, they get a whole new trophy. GLB and the NFL already are not at all like each other in this respect. My suggestion does not really impact that at all.

Ultimately if you think the trophy is a joke that is up to you, but trophies have been and are given for much less on GLB every season.

And to Hatchman, come on, a participation ribbon? You think winning 3 playoff games in a Pro league is as simple as just showing up? It's a feat only 16 teams in all of GLB are able to accomplish each season. You GM a lot of teams, you know how absurd this statement is.

I am not taking anything away from what teams do at any level. but to continually add a trophy for this or a medal for that then it waters down the trophies won by the teams that actually won their leagues. I am being sincere when I say I understand what you are saying Tpat. but look at it like this if your team works its but off and wins a championship. doesn't it bother you to know that some other team that didn't put the same amount of work in. got a trophy also for basically being the 2nd losing team in the league.

And yes I GM quite a few teams. so I will not comment on other peoples teams and will only speak on my own thoughts. as a team owner I wouldn't want your suggestion implemented simply because it waters down the achievements of the teams that won the conferences and the overall league champion IMO.

Since we already have the ability to adjust our trophy cases, then this is a good idea. Those that wish to show such trophies can do so... those that don't don't have to. Third place trophies don't hurt anything nor add to workload of game. +1

This plus people know the difference between a gold, silver, bronze in terms of what it means just like people know when they see people with 50 lolGM trophies that they don't mean much. I truly see what you are saying because I have often refused lolGM offers. All of the trophies in my case I earned. But I just don't see winning 3rd place in a league as a minor accomplishment.

Only reason I am against it is the amount of cares that will go into that game by both teams. Just dont think most teams will give enough shits to win a bronze 3rd place trophy.

By that logic we should get rid of trophies for peewee bronze and for all levels below level 50.
