Other than bad throw for the QB, or poor catching on the part of the WR/TE/Back, what else plays into a player making drops?

There really aren't that many drops.
Most drops in terms of the stat-line are catches that were knocked loose.

hmmm .... then what leads to passes being knocked loose? Is it just a strength battle? Does carrying come into play here? How does this battle play out?

I never knew knocked loose passes showed up as a drop for the receiver in the stat lines

One of my corners has 5 targets, 4 receptions allowed, 3 PDs, and 0 KLs this post-season. Figure that one out.

He got the pass deflections on plays where he was not the target?
I think the sim only assigns a target to one player, but with double coverage or a zone a player can get a PD or a KL even if he wasn't the targetted D player.
