I would say no until I saw something better in the starting game. There a bunch of people out there that have complained about how steep the learning curve is for new players.

Need more Faq's and stuff. There should be in depth guides on how to do things. This is just one thing of many needed.

Its tough to make guides that are small enough the casual fan will read...but in depth enough for a new user to still be able to compete with the best builders out there.
tbh GLB player building isn't that complicated for those who have played text based games before....but those who have never been around a game like this have a really tough time understanding it.

+1, but I like the idea in theory

If new players only played new players, the learning curve wouldn't matter.

The great thing was the addition of the fully useable free guy. They should press this fact when trying to attract new players.
Offer various levels of guides. I made a suggestion years ago that was put on the list of potential future things to be implemented and it was for live chat and phone support. If you can get a large number of people it would be worth it to have staff on hand to help out like alot of the big online games.

I agree with this. Would be nice to have an special league just for new accounts with walkthroughs to building players and such. Make the players take their free player through one season before creating any more and then give them the 400 RP for new accounts. (unless they want to pay to unlock flex)

I just meant you would learn more, and learn it faster if you were playing with veterans - and some other noobs, too, of course.

not necessarily. not like we'd split up the forums or force them to go into the noob leagues. could be a choice to go into the noob league for the first season you sign up.
even then they could all ask questions and stuff in the noob forum and get help, not like we'd stick them all in one league and not let them post in the main forum

Game has to be ready for prime time before it is advertised seriously.
You only get one shot at someone, so no need to bring people into the game who will turn their noses up and leave because the game is not ready yet.
Another game I play did that TWICE, buggy release and then some years later a big push for new and returning players to see a new really large upgrade and that wound up being buggy with the volume. End result, they are frakked.
