is there a list of the SA's that can fire for various dots even if you have 0 points in them or it's not on your tree?

Anyone ever seen Monster Hit or Big Hit without anything in those SAs?

I remember the Big Sack bug. That's been around forever.

I remember bort saying SAs can fire even if you have 0 in it. But that was like 3 years ago

yes

According to bort, all SAs except fakes can happen with 0 points in them. I've seen monster hit, one handed catch, big sack, stiff arm with 0 points in them.

I think it is easier to list those I've never seen without points in them:
Head fake
Juke
Spin
Turn the shoulder

And I think that's it, from those that show up in the replays/pbp/text and have been around for a long time.

Of course, none of this applies to the "newer" SAs like hurdle, surge, etc. I have no info on those.

My understanding is any SA that is continuously on such as aura or quick read for instance works with zero points in it. The points in the SA only increases the effect.

It would say so in the play text. Some SA's get a little blurb bubble visual on the field of play... some show up in the text (like diving catch and diving tackle).
