When a team owner decides to give up their team, any trophy's are left on the team's trophy page. It would be good to know who was in charge of the team when these trophies where won.
I propose two things.
1. GLB users have a tab in their trohpy section or Team section that lists where the team finishes and what league called Team Owner Record
2. Teams have included with the GIF and the team name and season, who was in charge, who OC/DC/STC
This way if an established successful team changes hands, those who take over don't get to say they won (though most times they won't), but have the chance to add to that team's accounts legacy.
Edit:
Or something like this (quoted from below):

I like a compromise:
1. Trophies get wiped on new purchase unless by a current GM.
2. There is a History section on the team page showing past owners, OCs, record, etc.. Any new Owner, upon purchase of the team has option to hide (not delete) that history. That way this history remains intact. Assuming the database can handle it.
