A lot of the time they'll end up pretty similarly.. especially on this game since Speed is so highly touted, but a SS should be better at coverage than a LB. Look at the trouble in Dallas with Roy Williams. He's pretty much been trying to play Deep Line Backer, and it isn't working out too well.

Couldn't have said it better myself man. I saw this question somewhere else on the forums actually.. But yea, Ss have to be better in coverage while LBs have to be better hitters and block shedders. The way I see it.. LBs should have more STR and TCKL while Ss should have more SPD and AGI for better coverage skills.

For most OLBs and SSs, there's really not going to be that big of a difference, especially with people maxing out important and key skills then moving to the next. Once people start regularly putting points into things that take 2 and 3 SPs to raise, then we'll start seeing LBs and SSs differ. Until then, it's basically just the order you get your key stats to max first.
(And SAs, obviously.)
