Yeah, around there. It's definitely noticeable.

My FB played a good amount of TE a few seasons ago. Gives a mild gauge (speed differences being ALG gains from level ups throws it off very slightly)

It's definitely one of the smaller ones. I don't think any of us know for sure exactly what the penalties are and how much they are.

Hopefully, someday, we will have at least a tiny idea. Would love to see some vague numbers on this. I don't think giving exact numbers is a good idea... people need to think and make decisions. But if we knew a little (something like this; A FB playing at TE takes between a 3-8% penalty... a FB playing HB takes between a 2-7% penalty... and a FB playing WR takes between a 7-13% penalty,,, ect, ect, [and I am seriously guessing here]), then perhaps we'd see more depth on the depth charts (like 3rd and 4th string setups).

Bort himself explained this about 10 seasons back. A normal position switch to only a 5% penalty and he gavbe examples. Like a Center to a Tackle position. Or a SS to FS. CB TO WR was also minimal. But a RB at QB took a huge hit at like 15-30%.

I used a scat FS as a rec TE in s28. He played sFB as well and saw a ton of looks as a rec TE.

It was not really a problem.

I've been using TEs as FBs and vice versa for a while now. It is mostly for depth. My reasoning is a fresh skat FB at TE may be better than a tired TE making up for the OOP. I could be wrong but seems logical to me.

Not wrong, but make sure you aren't using a 98/99 energy setting for TE, otherwise he'll be subbing for a still fresh TE.

why not 95/96 so you swap at the breath point?

Still too high given the out of position penalty.
