Maybe I'm just thinking too crazy here, but I think there should be a slight energy loss when a player subs in/out....he's jogging 25-30 yards on/off the field each time....doesn't really seem realistic at all having players subbing in and out every play or two. it would make more sense if there was a logic behind keeping guys in for maybe a series at a time

i didn't expect that to go over well...it is true though. it's not like players magically teleport on/off the field every play... half the time if they're coming off, they're sprinting off to not get caught with a 12-players on the field penalty. you make a 320lb DT run on and off the field 3-4 plays in a row, he's gonna be way worse off than had he just stayed in the game

We don't have refs on the field but yet we have penalties.

Yep. If you subbed players on and off the field every play in a real game they would be exhausted.

I want to +1 this, but then the bench guys wind up getting screwed by settings to counter it. A fairly minor bit of realism that I think needs to bend to playability.

when you sub out and sit on the bench, you recoup stamina. clearly when Bort calculated the rate of recovery he included the loss of stamina incurred when you run back onto the field.
