No not delete because it costs flex. Just an option to hide it so people can add it back.

I haven't had to deal with this yet, but I do like to reduce clutter in my current forum by removing obsolete threads. If removal of a single thread or sub-forum is not currently possible within sub-forums, then I give a +1 to this suggestion.
Plus it will help GLB save server space.

What if, like retiring DOTs, you got some of the flex back? Would that make it more feasible? While I get the negatives regarding this suggestion, I still look at the current forum situation and... unless I'm mistaken... I don't see any way at all to remove the forums once they're no longer in service (unless the great and powerful Bort behind the curtain has one of those "easy" buttons from Staples that fixes things). Perhaps... for now... this isn't a problem. But, eventually it will have the same problems we have with dead people... too many and no place to put them anymore. Seriously though... it will eventually become really badly cluttered eventually... so, while not a current pressing need... it will be needed sometime.

Agreed. That's my point of view, which is why I added my 2 cents despite experience with managing private forums.
