Does Carrying offer anything more than "ball control?" I'm curious if anyone thinks it helps a RB do more than eliminate fumbling.

Thanks.

Well...I was kind of alarmed & ready to dump my next 10 into carrying after seeing an increase in fumbles....but it ain't just my RB.....GLB Wide fumbles have been up and in the same thread Bort addressed the fact that players are faster & collisions are harder now so the result has been, an increase in fumbles.
This is what mega is referring to.
He also said it would help break tackles due to players going for the strip more often...so it was a broader topic than "bort said....."

I have a feeling it affects more than just fumbling, but I don't have any specific info on the algos being used.

I'm starting to think it affects how well a RB's Special Abilities work. Anyone want to take a stab at this?

tea baggs said that his fumbles have been way up so far this year, but his SA's are still working just as well as before

GLB wide they are up.

Bort's explanation makes perfect sense: Faster Players = Bigger Collisions.

It makes sense that it helps break tackles if the tackler has his tackling style to cause more fumbles. While he's going for the strip, the back has a better chance of getting away from him.I always knew it did something besides just protecting the ball.

Just train it and put points into strength. That's a 2 for 1.

To add on

= You need more carrying as the competition gets faster.

Bort never said anything about it breaking tackles on a small scale. He just said that it helps to break tackles.

Come on now. Here's Bort's EXACT quotes on the subject.

---------------
If wrap up tackling is becoming even less likely to force fumbles, then power tackling should get a little boost to make it worthwhile, especially if the chance to make the tackle isn't as good.

Carrying = fumble less and break more tackles.
---------------
(still talking about carrying)
Sorta true...but it does actually increase your chance to break a tackle by a little bit. Strength and agility are generally more valuable in that area, though (along with a crappy tackler LOL).
