The Suggestion:
I had the idea after reading a thread that was talking about using a Repeat Play type penalty.
The first thing that would need to be implemented is to change the player play concentration from run/no focus/pass into a slider bar that would allow players to more accurately pick their concentration.
The second part to this suggestion would be to allow a player to have an auto adjust slider, varying from -100 for never adjust to +100 for adjust frequently. This slider would essentially have the same effect as the AI auto-adjust. If a player is in on plays where the opposing teams runs a lot of times in a row, a shift occurs in the play concentration towards a run play. The amount of this shift would be based on the auto-adjust slider.
What this does:
>It allows defenses to adjust realistically based on play calling. If a team keeps on doing nothing but running the ball, you're more likely to read a run.
> Gives the offense the ability to switch focus: If you're down a score with a minute left and move to an all passing drill to try and stretch the field for a win, your auto-adjust could help move your players more towards pass blocking focus. Conversely, if you're trying to run down the clock, it would allow your players to gradually switch to a more run focused blocking.
