With Tagging etc, we have the ability to see a specific player and modify defenses to accommodate the players supposed(or Known) abilities/build.
This allows the defense to be flexible and deal with these 'problem' players.
So, this suggestion is a way to allow the offense to actually use these players more.
As it is presently: you have to jump through a lot of hoops to ensure a player even gets playing time at their position when they are built non-traditionally. So it may be nicer to be able to put all your players in a single depth chart location, but you can't do this because you may not want some players in on certain sorts of plays.
So why not allow an offense to 'Tag' their own players and when a tagged player is in on the play the playbook used would be one designed for and labeled for the tagged player.
You would likely need a hierarchy/order so that a Tagged QB comes first (overrides all other tags if they are in on the play) followed by a tagged HB, Tagged FB, etc.
In this way though, the OC could likely more easily put players into the rotation and ensure that the right sort of plays are called for their talents.
