Ok so there is no question that if we allowed Custom play design by the Off that it would get out of hand pretty quick. I still think that if you allow the def to make custom plays and change starting formations you should do the same for the off. However..

What if you simply allowed the OC to set a target on his blockers...Put it in the hands of the OC and well built blockers to pick up that blitz..

why not take the chains off the ocs and allow them to tell that guard to pickup the fs..
allow him to mark him as his man. as soon as the fs breaks the LOS the guard reacts to cover his assignment..

There are 100 plays we could use to show where this would add something to the game.

In a perfect world I would love to see custom plays be allowed on the off side of the ball.

I'm pretty sure it would be next to impossible for MOST! DCs to cover them. but something as simple as blocking assignments.. I think it would add a little something without throwing the balance off,, The better built dots should win the fight anyway. But it would take away some lol mis blocks..

It would give the solid OCs a real tool.. without trashing the game..

So my suggestion made simple is allow OCs to set blocking assignments

first of all your G failed a vision check and thats why he didn't get the FS.

This idea is a huge -1 for me. This makes the game way too complicated.

Imagine how the DC's would cry over this. They already start wailing because a couple passes get completed, or because a HB picks up a few yards. They whine enough already.

As an OC, it would be a nice option, but I do think it would add a little bit too much more work to OCing.

I can see where you are coming from and I can see some good that could come out of it, but the Offense can win games without having this "set blocking assignments". Like bigtisme said, it will make the game way more complicated.

lol you have have to set them ... the defaults could stay unless you decide to set them..

I already suggested this idea and it was deemed too complicated to set up.
