Would like to see how many people are actually reading the "Mandatory" posts inside team forums.

While I can see a purpose for this, it's getting close to a user post count, which they have said will never happen

where is this ngth list?

it was on the old list, the new one has been made a little more broad.

I'm not saying that it's not do-able, just saying that the higher ups may have left it out for a reason. Besides, if people view the thread multiple times, you'd have no way of knowing who did and who didn't.

I think the best way to do it is still just to ask them to post something, even as simple as "set" or "OK"

You should sign more active users imo.

People post in most threads in my team forum so I know that they are looking at the thread. As Chysil stated, the same person or two could just repeatedly click on the thread and you would really have no way of knowing how many actually looked at it.

Saying this was just an example of one of its uses.

You can't tell me you're not curious how many views certain posts have, i.e. Suggestions threads? Or Game recap threads? Doesn't hurt the game at all.

Nope. View counts wouldn't really add anything useful in my opinion as well.

we still cant search, i dont see how they would make forum changes that arent a search feature firrst and foremost

Actually it has everything to do with the suggestion. If more people posted in your team threads you would know they looked at them.
