Yes, build a dot.

Instead of creating a dot from day 0, what about the option to be able to build one that is similar to the level of a CPU dot. Only difference is, this dot could be of any age up to a certain point. Say you need a blocking tight end on a University team, but there are none that are available or up to you liking (need to be retired).

Rather than signing a CPU dot, you could use flex to purchase a build-a-dot. Each dot would cost more flex incrementally, and would be limited to let's say 3 per team.

Not sure what would come of the dot after the season, as I am just coming up with the scenario as I can think of it. Hopefully through some dialogue this can be vetted a little more to see if this is probable or even worth the effort.

But maybe the dot would be like "Pinocchio", and in the following season would be your own dot for an extra amount of flex. My personal opinion would be to have this as a one season dot that would expire after the season is over.

No trades allowed, no benefit other than being able to fill a roster without having to resort to a CPU or "need to be retired" dot.

I know I am not the only one that has thought about this.

They pretty much mixed the insta-dot idea when they shortened the build process.

how would it work?

would you have to train 600 times then apply all those SPs if you wanted a pro dot?

Install the VPB onto GLB and run the build that way.

Bort mentioned awhile back that he liked the idea of creating a dot at a specific level. But I think with the whole APD changes it's way less likely to happen now.

For awhile it seemed possible (Bort commented that he liked the idea).

But I'll have to agree with you for now. It seemed to be either APD or this "build-a-dot" thing. APD got it.
So I doubt we'll be seeing this anytime soon.

I like that. But not just a player for your team. Just at any point. Say i have 9,300 flex to make and boost a QB, and i just want it to be right at plateau. Run me through a VPB like system, pay the 9,300 flex, and Bam! You have a lvl 79 QB.

I like the idea

The cost wouldn't be 9,300 however. It would be a one time charge of the 30% that doesn't get refunded when you retire. (so you pay upfront and get nothing back upon retirement)

That is how it was suggested the first time, and makes sense to me.

I don't see why Bort would have a problem.
We spend flex - he makes money.

The Rich will always have advantages the others don't. Money talks.
That's Life - get used to it.

This^^

The rich have always will always have the advantage. WHy do you think we switched to age based leagues? So that the poor couldnt have ANY kind of advantage in the lower level caps.

And honestly, its quite the opposite. If you only have the pay the 30%, then its actually helping guys who cant afford the whole 9,300 to boost throughout the career.

3,100 is less than 9300. Just sayin

-1 from me would be to easy to game the system. some guy buys a team in the worst league in lets say Regional Pro. then he and his friends fill the team with Dots as outlined by the OP. the team would easily win against crappy teams with a bunch of CPU players. so it would be a cheap way to win championships. that usually people wouldn't have a chance at doing.

Im not sure how cheap it is to spend 100,000 flex building a whole team just to win a regional pro 10 trophy, lol.
