I understand GLB doesn't want to see offenses getting sacked 20+ times a game...but this LBer blitz nerf has made stopping short yardage runs impossible again. OCs could limit sacks through play calling before. Now all you have to do is run inside 4 straight times with no chance of getting tackled for loss. This move is not going to make QB and WR owners happy when OCs realize that all they have to do is I Slam the whole game. I guess power HB owners will be happy.

wasnt there some ridiculous off tackle run a few seasons ago? I remember one of the teams i was on doing it like 80% of the game because no one could stop it without giving up easy TDs to other plays.

+1 to buffing inside blitzing.

I think the thought behind correcting pocket protection and reducing sacks in general was on point; however, QBs always getting the ball off before a sack and OLBs not being able to get off the line at the snap is a problem. I believe the correction to the HB/FB blocking problems is enough to get the balance that's needed.

I OC and DC equally as much btw

I've watch some blitzes today, and I couldn't tell a difference from last season to this one. Some of those ROLB are still moving at warp 9. I also saw a MLB run right past a center before he could move.

The primary problem was slowing down well built dots and speeding up poorly built dots. The LBs no longer has enough speed to get into the back field.

Should have left speed alone and just made it a really big vision check based on distance from the center seeing as the goal was to nerf CB blitzes.

teams that keep the HB and the RB in to block are the ones that arent giving up sacks. Teams that leave them still give up 4-5 sacks a game to CB's SS's and LB's. If a team leaves HB's and FB's in to block they should be able to pick up the blitz and slow dots down. Im a DC... its still possible to blitz you just cant exploit blitz every single play, you need to be smart about when to blitz.

the LB stuff was defensible last season. I think the nerf went too far and I think it will get adjusted before day 1

going to lock this one up, wait until at least a few games into the season before we discuss things. Stuff is always getting tweaked in the pre-season etc.

until it's been really fleshed out, this is little more than a "revert this change" thread which is an insta lock.

AFTER a few games into the regular season, if you feel something needs to be adjusted than make a specific suggestions (IE, make it harder to spot blitzing LBers, or make it harder for 5 man front to hold off blitzes etc etc)
