Well, I figured I should write this now after thinking about it for a while.

I originally made this team in hopes that my friends would join GLB and we would have a team together. As of now, only 2 have joined and one of them has only logged on once. As most owners know.. its not really easy running a team unless you have help. Its alot of work to scout, etc. without barely any help and honestly, its beginning to feel like a job to me. I love the game.. but I dont want it to feel like work.

Ive had a couple of thoughts...

1) sell the team. This would be easiest I suppose but at the same time.. hardest. Ive come to enjoy plannin against you vultures! If this happens.. I would leave my guys on the team and they would eventually phase out by finishing their contracts or being traded.

2) Start bringing in outside players/Gms/Coordinators/etc. This might take off some of the workload and I could keep the team at the same time.

3) ok there is no three.. but it was flowin so smooth!

Bottom line.. Im struggling to find the time to game plan and get everything else in order. Im thinking its time to start phasing out my guys and bringing in new players. My friends are slackers and they all owe me kegs of beer for this. Im not sure how soon this phasing out will occur... but I will probably drop one or two guys tonight and pray I can find free agent help tomorrow to be ready for Maine the day after (damn free agent market sucks). Dont get too excited Hawks.. it'll be a back up or two if any at all! I WILL NOT be gutting this team.. it will be a slow phase out and I am going to try and keep it competitive. I want to have my guys on different teams.. I enjoy the interaction.

So.. that is whats going through my mind. Ive enjoyed having near full control.. but miss the other aspects that I have on some of my guys who are on other teams.. mainly interaction and meeting new people. I haven't completely decided yet.. but think I may begin the phasing out of the old and bringin in of the new guys process.

I know if I do it this way.. it shouldnt affect 3B 16 much at all and thats how I think we all would prefer it. We still intend to give everyone of you our best.. regardless of how many of our own guys are still on the team.

Im not sure how long the phase out will take.. but I know I just recently bought the team through next year so I have some time to really think it through. The phase out may happen this week.. or even next season.. but I think it best it happens at this point in time.. especially when school starts back up.

Anyways.. I'll keep ya guys informed.. but until then.. the Poison will be gunnin for ya!

I'm in a lot of the same spots as you. I had a lot of people on my team who were too lazy to check unless I reminded them, and had to do gameplanning too. Is there ANYONE on your team willing to help at all? Why not try to have someone try out the duties of strategies?

If you don't have anyone on your team willing to do it, you could always try to bring someone on. If that person does a good job, keep them. If not, find someone new. There are tons of potential coordinators out there.

If you are going to sell the team, at least wait until the playoffs. And don't gut it.

Look up some GM's on the Looking for GM's, OC's, DC's. Make sure their dedicated to helping you with everything, don't be afraid to be the hammer but not a prick at the same time . http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread_list.pl?forum_id=67

Assign specific duties that you wouldn't have to worry about. Takes off the pressure.

Just my thought, might as well see how getting help would work. If it still feels like a job, then sell. No game should feel like a job, should be enjoyable.

(I think your having doubts due to Maine playing Physcological warfare on you in the other thread)

*EDIT* Yah, wait till playoff time like Tom said. Don't gut

Mwahahahahahah! It's working!

Seriously, I think you just need to find one guy who is as excited as you are and can do math at a 3rd grade level or higher. Just one.

It doesn't matter if you find him amongst your current players or even if you go out looking specifically for someone to sign just to get the agent (not the player, but the agent) on board.

Maybe even take up one of the random guys asking to be made a GM. It'll give you a chance to see how it works out and there's a slim chance that he might be worth keeping around. While it seems more likely that it's some schmuck who will lose interest in a week, you never know.

Looking around the forums it seems like quite a few teams are in the same spot as N.O Poison.

I really hope you find some one who wants to help out. Option 2 is way cooler then option 3. Rivalries are more fun if it's the same people from game to game (season to season).

One thing you might try is to find gamers... Hell it's worked for the Hawks. An entire team of dedicated players and the atmosphere is great too... even if we're all *cough mostly Meech cough* slightly insane

Stick around, if you can just find one person to help out it'll start getting easier.

I really would like to stick around and Im going to try to slowly bring in new players/coaches/etc. Gutting is not an option. I think once I begin getting my guys off the team.. it will be a 1-2 at a time.. while bringing in their replacements right away (at the same lvl or higher). This process could take some time and most likely wont be close to finished till next season. I do plan on option 2.. at a slow pace to ensure the team remains competitive as can be.

Like I said.. will keep ya guys updated. As of now.. I REALLY dont want to sell the team and would prefer to see if bringing in coaching/gm help will take some pressure off.

and damn that Maine psychological warfare! Oh and shadow.. can I have the cheerleaders instead? I'd like to drool over them too..

From my experience as a GM on multiple teams is Less is More. Once you have a good feel for your team, find some Tactics that work to your strengths. It takes alot more work to scout every team you play. Once you're tactics are set, they just need to be tweaked here and there from one game to the next. And avoid micromanaging advanced tactics for each position. If a player has a good build than he should do his job without alot of Focus this or Focus that.
As far as recruiting, it does suck. That's why I sold my BBB team before they ever played a game. I wouln't mind owning a team now cuz I have alot more contacts but I'm way down in the list.

thats sounds like the Nighthawks, have a level 11 Lb on all third string positions , But i am the OC and DC and one of the major people incharge of scouting with EKO. Its not hard to find a gm,

The major problem with a new co-ordinator is that its takes time for an OC/ DC to find what type of things work and things that doesn't that he likes , and how the team might take taking a new person as the OC and DC and the losses it comes with it

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I salute you, silva, for putting your e-penis aside and playing as a GM, rather than just playing as an agent.

(I'm in the same boat, since I'm nominally a GM on the Hawks and my WR is a ways down the line. Personally, I think it's a frakkin' great way to play the game and I really think it'd help you get out of your funk, Dome.)

Dome Patrol, you and I have certainly had our struggles. The best thing to do is tough it out. Friends have other friends who are always looking for a good owner on a team that's tight. I have some players that have left, but some other ones have also led to getting new ones. My entire core of guys (and one girl) seem to be sticking together. It appears that we'll definitely be good to go even after this season. I've certainly done my part to always keep the boards interesting. Getting all of the players to interact with each other certainly keeps everyone interested. I wish you the best! You're a charter member and I hope you'll be here for a long, long time (unless you move up, of course).

If you sell your team you'll never get another one. I sold my BBB team before they ever played a game. And now that I'm ready to own a team I'm going backwards on the list. Anybody who hasn't Owned a team gets put in front of me on the list. I wish they had a way of seperating the people that gutted a team and people like me. I never made a trade or moved any money from that team, but I'm being punished along with the people that have. And those people can create another account and jump to the top of the list, while I will never get another team cuz I'm honest and play within the rules. Oh well, I probably just saved 1,000 Flex points.

Well that makes me rethink things a little. As of now, I am stil going to try and stick it out. Ive got someone else tryin to help me so I dont have to do it all. Problem with me slowly bringing in other players is.. telling the truth. When Im recruiting I am completely straightforward in my approach. I tell them the current state of the team and let them know what kind of team it is at the moment. Knowing that they are going to be on a team with slow forums for a while seems to scare them off. Oh well.. will keep tryin when I get time.

This does help.. but doesnt take the stress away! lol

I really dont want to sell.. I just cant afford to have to do it all myself right now. Its nice having a little help and right now.. its just a matter of convincing new guys to want to join the "rebuilding" of the team.

Now if you'll excuse me.. we've got a tough Indy team to play in the morning and alot of work to do to prepare for them!
