If you're dot's team is out of the playoffs and you're not resigning you should be able to release yourself if you're going to retire your dot. Just thought it'd be nice.

you signed a contract you should honor the contract end of story.

The only exception to my -1 for this would straight retirement (not release) for Peewee league players. And even then I'm partly against it.

With more thought, I think a better suggestion would be re-allow team Owners to cut players after elimination.

This would be nice, as long as the player is FORCED to RETIRE, and the player's contract is out at the end of the year anyway... This also helps teams have a better understanding of what players they are going to need.
