For each player, near or beside Make Offer/Offer Contract/Offer Trade, there would be a place for Show Interest, taking you to a form similar to Contract Offer.
Similar to contract offers, but a notice to a player that a team has interest in them. This option can be turned on/off by the agents by selecting "allow notices of interest" or "disallow notices of interest", which the former would be the default. They could also select which teams they prefer to send notes of interest, whether it's age or league range. Teams can only send one "NOI" to per player per season to avoid bombardment.
Think this would make it easier to contact agents and players instead of using the forums, private messages, and such before offering contracts. Then the agent/player could check off their level of interest in the team, maybe a scale of 1-10 as well as a place to add a note of sorts similar to contract offers.
Owners and managers could gauge how much interest a player has and could take it into consideration when recruiting after they receive and view the level of interest chart(s) for all players contacted.
PMs would then be used more effectively for communicating other intangibles afterwards and the forums would have less bunching during the end of the seasons.

While sipping on your tea, coffee, or gatorade, you pleasantly scroll through the many notices to find one that says "choose this one".
You respond with the same ease as you did when you scrolled to locate your selection, letting them know that you have interest also.
The two run towards each other in slow motion with arms open, anticipating the coming embrace.
The union is complete after consummating the agreement, and they live happily ever after (atleast until the end of the contract season)~~@
