One of the guys on a team I head coach/co-own is third in the MVP race, trailing two players who have worse statistics (sacks etc) than he does. By far.
Its only when you turn on the blow out filter that his stats drop below theirs. Therefore I presume that this is what the MVP calculator does.
At first blush that makes sense. Here's the thing.
All three dots are in the same conference. They obtained those statistics playing games against the same teams. My guys dot has the better statistics but is being penalized with a blow out adjustment because he was on a better team that devastated its competition, the same competition these other dots faced and could not beat.
That makes no sense.
I suggest the raw stats be used when making MVP considerations, at least as to dots who have shared opponents.
