(Forgive me if this has been proposed before)
I think Coordinators need to receive more recognition for their contributions. I suggest that each league award the best OC and best DC.
1. Each league would have to have a minimum of 28 human owned teams (some standard has to be set).
2. To be eligible, OC/DC would need to be submitted by Day 1 of the season. (Only if a formula (scroll down to #4) is used to help determine the award, otherwise this could be removed)
3. Each team owner would be allowed to nominate 1 OC and 1 DC but not from their own team. Since some teams do not have listed OC/DC coaches in team profile, the owner would be responsible for making that known to the league. Or GLB could allow Owners to add themselves as OC/DC in team profile.
4. And then some simple formula could be created based on yds gained/yds allowed, pts scored/pts allowed, wins/losses, and maybe a few other factors could be added in to determine the value of a job done by the Coordinator of their team.
5. Or, instead of a formula, something as simple as a forum vote could be setup for all owners to publicly vote. But would not be allowed to vote for there own OC/DC. Or a combination of the formula giving 1 pt, and then owner votes adding 1 pt.
6. Obviously this would be voluntary, if an owner abstains than that would be there choice. And an owner could defer there vote to a Co-Owner.
7. And then a trophy would be added to player profile. Could be a glass football image or something unique.
8. An agent would only be eligible for this award for one team within any one league. Some leagues have agents who OC/DC for more than one team within that league. I believe they should be excluded from this award within that league. The agent would still be eligible for the award in different leagues. For example, OC for Team "A" in University Elite 1 and OC's in University Competitive 3. Person would be eligible to win the award in both leagues as long as agent doesn't OC for more than one team in each league. Person would not be eligible if they DC for one team while OC'ing for another in the same league. A Coordinator would still be eligible to win both awards if they OC/DC for the same team. (Hopefully I'm making sense here and not
)
9. I'd be willing to facilitate the forum voting for each league if it helps get the suggestion off the ground.
Definitely open to improvements on this suggestion and/or criticism. If this is under the NGTH list, I'd appreciate knowing that now before wasting anybody's time.
