With current setup all we have is the chance that a rushing QB set to scramble often will decide to run if all his targets are covered. Most offensive formations should have QB rollouts with option to pass or run, depending on the coverage.

This would bridge the current gap in the sim that pretty much makes it pointless to build a true dual threat QB.

Pretty sure that Bort has stated in the past that the option would be a clusterfuck. Would be difficult to code imo.

What about play action, I'm sure that's been suggested. And needs to be implemented at least. I want to run a mine shsnahab offense. Cut blocks and roll outs

I don't know that much about code, but I can't see it being that much more difficult than having a QB scramble out of the pocket and still make a decision to throw or run. Having designed rollout plays would just give an OC the option to make sure that is what happens on the play.

I can see where it might get a bit hairy though if you try to add laterals or pitches. I'd just be happy with something that gives the QB the option to throw right up until he crosses the LOS, and allows a decision based on the coverage, proximity of defenders, and maybe even down and distance.

Play action would be nice also, and probably not all that hard to add since it would just be another type of fake.

that + adding "run" to the target projection. Possibly with a tactic for how aggressive you want to be toward running such as:

-If you think you can get the first
-If you think you can get 3+ yards (overrides to first down marker on 3rd down)
-If you think you can get past the line of scrimmage
-Always
-Never

D has no contain options, so this would just screw them.

I think the contain options would be just about the same as those that work now to defend QB outside rushing plays.

Blitzing, zones, dropping DE's to the flats, etc.

As a DC I would not have any issues with this.
