How about we get a new tactics setting for the QB position that lets you pick how far you want him to lead his receivers when he throws the ball. Say 0-7 yards. Then when the QB throws the ball, instead of throwing it at the dot, he throws the ball 0-7 yards further along the current vector that the intended receiver is running. If you can set your QB to throw the ball 5 yards further down the field than your dots current position and on the same path he is already running, he should be able to go and get it. Of course if you set it too far you run the risk of over throwing it or allowing a defender to get to it first. I suppose since different receivers have different stats, you may even want to set it as a WR/TE/HB tactics option so that the QB will lead each receiver a different amount of yards.

-1. QB leads are already ruining crossing routes as it is.

yes, right out the back of the endzone

Enough fun with the QB tactics now. Another tactic would complicate things, IMO. It just needs to be coded better. The QB should be using his Vision for leading receiveers, back-shoulder passes, how hard to throw the ball, etc...

I'm watching replays for my WR and he is never being lead by the QB, always having to slow down or even stop in order to make the catch. I figured if we had a sliding scale we could set with a clear coding effect, I could actually get the QB to lead my receiver properly once in a while.

that is probably due to the build or the settings the QB is using.

Im not gonna sit here and pretend I watch a shit ton of my QB's replays but of those I did happen to see it doesnt appear he leads all that often either, even when the WR is wide open. My QB's build and settings are good enough.

A set distance would be too arbitrary and not fit the dynamics of the game. How would he lead a come back route for instance.

What would be better would be for lack of a better term a slider to distance the ball from defenders. Set it to minimum and the QB throws the most catchable ball he can regardless of the presence of defenders. Set it to maximum and he will throw a jump ball or a one handed catch ball away from or over a defender if the defenders are too close to the receiver, making the ball more difficult to catch but also much more difficult if not impossible to intercept. This would require vision to implement and good pass quality to work best.

QBs already lead the receivers. Seen it often, especially out the back of the endzone... usually when it works.

-1 to the OP. 1st of all Bort & Co. need to fix the code so receivers actually catch the ball in stride first. Secondly, the passing game itself took a big hit this Season due to Off Season changes which makes the game pretty boring now, but a DC's dream!
