I came across a a rookie forum conversation today..
it was a couple of new team owners talking about how hard it is to play against the Vet teams that are resetting..

Although I think it's always better to play the game a few seasons before buying a team.. It made me think.

It may be a good idea to add a League for new team owners. maybe set it so the owners account can only be 3-5 seasons old to buy a team in that League..

Everyone spends flex in differant ways in GLB. you have owners that reset ever season to get the lower lev golds. you have teams that don't try or plan till they are just about in pro.

I don't think any manor is right or wrong. people buy and spend flex for whatever style they play....

But allowing new owners a place to play without getting crushed while they learn may be a good idea. It may make the rookie even help the rookie div stay more competitive at the same time.

GLB has been around a long time. I love the League structures. The competitive vs elite has a way of splitting the better teams off and matching them with teams more suited for them.

I just think more new owners would stay on if they had a season or 2 to avoid some of the high powered vet teams. or the vet teams that build pee wee style dots to win the rookie golds.

Again I'm not bitching about how anyone builds or plays. I think you buy flex and play however you want...

i'd just like to see new owners have a place to work it out and learn to be solid team owners..

just a thought

They won't ever make a new league, it's been stated many times in the past. And many would argue that the only way to learn how to run a team is to play against real competition. You could play against all new owners and with no one having a clue most will not figure out what to fix. Then they move to prep/sophomore whatever the 2nd age group is now and get slaughtered when they get mixed back together with everyone.

So i'd have to say -1. There is no good solution, it's like this in every game where you face off against other human opponents. Some are going to have more info on the game than others.

I don't feel strongly about the suggestion at this point, but it's completely different from Pee Wee. Pee Wee is for new dots, not new owners. It works in so many ways completely differently from owning a regular team that no one will learn much about owning a team from owning one in Pee Wee.

Also, PeeWee teams don't move up. They're like dogs -- perpetual two-year-olds. Kinda like some of the agents too...

Anyway, separate leagues are NGTH, but maybe there's a scenario where experienced team owners can pick their preferred level of competition (i.e., elite/competitive/regular) when beginning with a rookie team.

I don't like the idea. How are you supposed to learn to be in a REAL league?

There's nothing like this in real life

I would be for this idea IF you could find an adequate way to stop agents from creating multis so they could pulverize these new leagues.
