I didn't spike strength, I went 2/1/1/1 with strength/speed/agility/vision, which I plan to continue doing till speed is about 30, then pumping carrying which is currently training.
In 2 games he has 172 rushing yards, 3 TD's, 5.0 YPC, and 13 broken tackles.
Just keep training carrying. By the time you're at your desired 2:1:1:1 you'll have it closer to 30. Also, you're going to need a LOT more strength than that ratio to play with the big boys. 
Oh, I know. I'm doing this till I get certain attributes at the level I want. One of the teams I'm on has a great powerback, so I'm basically stealing/improving on his build.
Plus, I've come to like "slow building" guys instead of just soft capping as fast as possible. Dunno why.
