Instead of calling them a rush, call them what they are - a scramble. Would make it much easier to scout.

Example, this play should be "QB scramble to the left (5.5 yard gain)":

I understand what you are saying but in the end it counts as a rush attempt/yards so really what's the point?

It would be no different than a bad pass. A bad pass still counts as a pass attempt/yards, but is described as a "bad pass" in the play-by-play.

The point would be to help in scouting.

Meh. At the end of the day the yards go to rushing as there is no "scrambling" stat. I don't think it is needed as it is purely aesthetic.

Only because scrambling in GLB isn't currently much of an option (despite the archetype). Although with the buff to zone defense relative to man coverage, I wonder if it's something they're working towards.

zone coverage actually makes a qb scrambling much more ineffective...

Right. Which would let them increase the probability of a QB scramble without upsetting the offense/defense balance too much, one would think. When facing a true scrambler (as opposed to a pure rushing QB) defenses would have an incentive to use more zone.

-1 a scramble is just a QBs attempt to keep from gettting sacked when no reciever is open. the QB rushes are exactly that. the player doesnt fall back look for a reciever and then run, they follow there blockers to the outside. like everyone has said though, it all goes to rushing attempts, even if he gets sacked on a pass play. negative rushing yards for you
