Not sure if this is even worth the idea, but what about allowing us to be able to franchise one player per team. This would be for a minimal number of seasons, 3 maybe 4, and maybe at max salary. Also, an owner of a team with a franchise player would not be able to cut or trade the player.
To franchise a player, it would cost both owner and agent flex points after both accept, similar to accepting a friendly scrimmage. The trade offs would be that each player would get a bonus of some sorts, as long as his agent is not an owner or manager of said team. Again, there will never be a franchise player on the same team as the owners/managers, that would be a red flag for bad things.
Did not want to suggest what kind of bonus, but that can be up for discussion.
